Operating System

MS Windows 98, MS Windows Me, MS Windows XP

Part No

(none)

Summary

Home users upgrading to IE7 may observe that when the Home Directory link is opened within RM EasyLink, the expected page is not loaded, instead the My Computer window appears.

Symptoms

What is the issue?
If home users upgrade their computers to IE7 (note: many home users will have automatically been upgraded by Windows® Update) and use RM EasyLink™ they may encounter this issue. When the RM EasyLink Home Directory link is chosen, instead of displaying the expected, RM EasyLink Home Directory page, a different page is displayed showing the My Computer folder for the local computer. Effected machines will be running IE7 and will not have Microsoft® Office® 2003 installed.

If you have IE7 on your Community Connect 3™ or RM Smart-Tools 3 network this will also effect users taking notebooks or tablet PCs home and using RM EasyLink to access the school network.
